INTERESTED IN BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE
CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH FAMILY?

The membership of Calvary Baptist Church shall consist of persons who profess Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior, who have been baptized, and who adopt the faith and manner of government as understood by this church.

This church understands scriptural conversion and scriptural baptism to be defined as follows: A scriptural conversion experience includes the confession of one's sin, the embracing of repentance and faith, and the forgiveness of sin and removal of judgment solely through the substitutionary atoning death and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. Scriptural baptism is a symbolic outward testimony of the inward reality of one's faith in Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. Through the public immersion of the candidate in water, he or she identifies himself or herself with Christ and His Church. (Romans 6:4)

Any person may offer himself or herself as a candidate for membership into this church at any regular worship service.

Admission into this church shall be by one of the following methods:

A. Baptism:
A person may be approved for membership by vote of the church upon his/her profession of faith in Christ followed by baptism.*

B. Transfer of Letter:
A member from another Baptist church may be received by transfer of church membership letter and vote of the church.*

C. Statement:
Any person who has made a profession of faith in Christ, been baptized by immersion, and been previously affiliated with a church, but cannot obtain a letter of transfer, may be received upon his/her statement of Christian experience and faith in the Lord Jesus, and vote of the church.*

*Any person coming for church membership will be required to attend 2 membership classes, immediately following his/her request for church membership and before becoming a church member. These classes will help the candidate become aware of the doctrines, beliefs, and practices of this church.
